Who can join the Dance Ensemble?

Dancers ages 10+ with at least one year of tap and/or acro experience are invited to participate!

What is the cost to participate?

Participation fee is $30 and covers choreography, rehearsals, admin time, blocking, dress rehearsal, and show day expenses.

What do I wear for a costume?

DIY newsboy costume! Costume inspiration is below. All costumes must be approved by the show director theater@thedancecompanynh.com

Rehearsal Info

Choreography dates:
Sunday, 9/22 12:00-4:00
Sunday, 9/29 12:00-4:00

*Dancers may not be called for the entire 4 hours each day. Schedule will be sent via email.

*Dancers will be placed in routines where the directors think they fit best. This could be tap, acro, and/or musical theater/jazz.

*Any dancers that cannot attend both dates above will not be in all dance numbers. They will be in what they learn on the day they are there.

Mandatory dress rehearsal:
Friday, 11/15 4:00-8:00

Costume Info

Costumes for the Dance Ensemble for Newsies Jr are DIY newsboy costumes! Please submit your costume to theater@thedancecompanynh.com for approval. Black or skin-toned jazz shoes are required. Black tap shoes are required if you are in the tap routine. Costume inspo below!

Hair & Makeup

Hair: Low bun to fit under hat

Makeup: Stage makeup. Blush, contour, black eyeliner/mascara, red lipstick etc
